Carolyn Strassner

Dear Parents,

Welcome to first grade at Warren Elementary.  My name is Carolyn Strassner, and I am your child’s teacher and your partner in learning this year.  I am beginning my 23rd year of teaching and my 10th here in Francis Howell at Warren Elementary.  I hold a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in elementary education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  My experiences in education have taken me into fifth, third, first, and kindergarten classrooms.  I am so excited to be returning to another year in first grade.

My family consists of my wonderful husband and two children, along with our dog, Max.  Mark and I have been married for 29 years.  My son, Michael, is 19 and in his second year of college.  My daughter, Amy, is 18.  She is a college freshman.  We enjoy Blues hockey and Cardinals baseball as a family.

First grade is an amazing year of growth academically and socially for your child.  As a class, we will build a caring and safe community in which your child’s literacy and math skills will develop, and we will celebrate individual and group successes.  Communication is an important part of this process.  Feel free to reach me at school via phone, e-mail, or a note in your child’s folder.  We also encourage volunteering at Warren, and my classroom is always open to parent helpers.  I am looking forward to working with you as we partner in your child’s education.

 Respectfully,

Carolyn Strassner
